Distribution of Nutritious Food program To TB Patients to support
Pradhan Mantri TB Mukta Bharat Abhiyan in coordination with
UKSL Trust, RDPR*, Health Departments and KHPT** in Belagavi Taluk
Health is a fundamental necessity for all living beings. Without good health, a person cannot lead a happy or productive life. Diseases are broadly categorized into contagious and non-contagious types. Among them, contagious diseases pose a serious threat as they can spread rapidly from person to person.
Tuberculosis (TB) is one such highly contagious disease that has been a major global health concern for many decades. In response to this ongoing challenge, UKSL trust has joined hands in the fight to eliminate TB from Karnataka. As part of its commitment, UKSL trust is supporting TB patients in Belagavi district by providing nutritious food under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMBA) for six months.
This initiative aims to strengthen the health and recovery of patients through proper nutrition and care, thereby contributing to a TB-free Karnataka and a healthier India.
In continuation of this effort, we are pleased to share the Third Month Progress Report for your kind perusal.
We have successfully completed the Third month’s food kit distribution on August 19th. Some patients personally collected their food kits, while others were represented by their caregivers. The distribution took place at District Civil Hospital, Belagavi. Food kits worth Rs 7,000 distributed to 10 beneficiaries.
We sincerely thank Shri. Ramanagouda Patil, vendor and former staff member of KHPT, whose voluntary support played a key role in the successful implementation of this round of distribution.
Team UKSL thanks Shri. Raghavendra Kulkarni, Shri. Bhaktaraj Ainapur and Kumari. Soumya Ichageri for their generous contribution towards this noble cause.

Nagamma’s Story – Supported by UKSL Trust
UKSL trust’s Support has helped her and her family a lot.
Nagamma, a 21-year-old girl from Hudali village of Belagavi Taluka, is the younger daughter of her parents. She has a younger brother aged 16. Her father works as an agricultural labourer in the village.
A meritorious student, Nagamma passed her 10th standard with 97% from Kitturu Chennamma Residential School (GOK), Khanagoun, Gokak. She then continued her education by pursuing a Diploma in Commercial Practice at Government Polytechnic College, Belagavi, while staying in the Government BCM Hostel at Ajam Nagar, Belagavi.
During this period, due to poverty and poor hostel food, she unfortunately contracted tuberculosis. Her ill health made it very difficult for her to focus on her studies. As a result, she decided to apply for jobs based on her 10th result. She was first selected as a clerk in Court but could not join because of her health conditions.
UKSL’s help in the form of Nutrition Food Kit is of immense help to her and her family.
Nagamma and her family have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to UKSL trust for this timely and continuous support.
THANK YOU
