Distribution of Nutririsious Food program To TB Patients to support Pradhan Mantri TB Mukta Bharat Abhiyan in coordination with  UKSL Trust, RDPR*, Health Departments and KHPT** in Belagavi Taluk

Health is a fundamental necessity for all living beings. Without good health, a person cannot lead a happy or productive life. Diseases are broadly categorized into contagious and non-contagious types. Among them, contagious diseases pose a serious threat as they can spread rapidly from person to person.

Tuberculosis (TB) is one such highly contagious disease that has been a major global health concern for many decades. In response to this ongoing challenge, UKSL trust has joined hands in the fight to eliminate TB from Karnataka. As part of its commitment, UKSL trust is supporting TB patients in Belagavi district by providing nutritious food under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMBA) for six months.

This initiative aims to strengthen the health and recovery of patients through proper nutrition and care, thereby contributing to a TB-free Karnataka and a healthier India.

In continuation of this effort, we are pleased to share the Second Month Progress Report for your kind perusal.

The program officially began in February 2025, but we encountered some unavoidable challenges in its initial phase—such as the transfer of the coordinating member from Belagavi to Davanagere and delays due to vendors not being ready to provide their account details.

Despite these hurdles, we successfully completed the second month’s food kit distribution on July 10th. Some patients personally collected their food kits, while others were represented by their caregivers. The distribution took place at BIMS, Belagavi. Team UKSL extend its thanks to Dr. Chandani, District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO) of Belagavi, and her team for graciously participating in handing over the kits to the beneficiaries. Food kits worth Rs 7,000 distributed to 10 beneficiaries.

We sincerely thank Mr. Ramanagouda Patil, vendor and former staff member of KHPT, whose voluntary support played a key role in the successful implementation of this round of distribution.

Team UKSL thanks Mrs. Meera Ranganathan for her contribution of Rs 5,000 towards this noble cause.
