This is a gist of Vanamahotsava season 3 held on 2nd June 2019.
UKSL Trust organized Vanamahotsava event on 2nd June 2019 at Kaggere Village near Kunigal of Hassan district, in association with Sri Tontada Siddalingeshwara Kainkarya (Dasoha) Seva Sangha, Yediyur.
Close to 100 members including senior citizens and kids from our trust participated in this event to extend our small contribution towards “save Mother Nature” initiative.
Enthusiastic team members of UKSL org team started preparing for this event a month in advance. Having experience of previous two such events it was kind of a roll out project!! Prabhu Savanur and Mahantesh Veerapur steered the event with grand success. From identifying the venue for sapling plantation, selecting, buying and transporting the saplings to the venue, coordinating to the managers at the venue and coordinating with all the participants were well taken care by them.
It was hard to say no to many people as two buses were jam packed within few days of announcement of this event. Unprecedented support from many in the form of donations to the saplings was overwhelming.
Children of age group starting from 5 years to senior citizens were part of the event. More than 20 children taking part in the event itself is a testimony of UKSL’s continued efforts in “save nature” initiative.
With blessings of holy Sri Siddalingeshwara and the support of Sri Vishwanath Bulla, Chairman of Dasoha and their support staff, UKSL trust celebrated the event by dedicating a day in planting the saplings of various types contributing toward the World Environmental Day June 5, 2019.
Shri C K Herkal, retired Deputy Director of Horticulture, Govt of Karnataka took the responsibility of getting 100s of saplings from Lalbagh, Bengaluru to Kaggere village. Chief guest Dr. Malali Gowda of DNA Life (http://dnalife.org) provided orientation and explained importance of the environment and ways to protect it. He also motivated the people in gathering to spend some time at their villages by planting trees and taking care of them.
On return journey, we visited Shravanabelagola and took blessings of Lord Bahubali. The climbing exercise of Shravana Belagola Hills gave everyone a chance to check their fitness levels. Needless to say everyone enjoyed the whole activity.
The next steps:
Uttara Karnataka Snehaloka (UKSL) Trust ® , Bengaluru welcomes everyone to join hands that with us to add value, new ideas, thought process and enhance and enrich our social life which otherwise would have been a mundane and routine process. Please do come and join this wonderful organization called “UKSL Family “ ..!
UKSL Organizing committee thank all sapling donors, participants and Dasoha staff to make this event successful. Our special thanks to event coordinators Shri. Mahantesh Veerapur and Prabhu Savanur.
Go green before green goes!!
